Landscapes & SEAscapes

Places I’ve been or seen in my dreams.

SARGASSUm

A slight obsession with seaweed.

Wheat, Lakes & Mountains

A little bit about wheat fields:

East of the Cascades you’ll find the gently rolling hills of the Palouse wheat fields as far as the eye can see. They’re a verdant green in the summer, all gorgeous and lush and beckoning. But in the fall, just before and after harvest, they have a different story to tell.

TRAVEL

Always one for an adventure, I decided to chuck everything - meaning, I left my career and put my prized possessions in storage (except my cat; my cat didn't go into storage) - and travel the world for a year.

In February 2014, I pulled out an Atlas, made a few key decisions, and outlined a potential route. By May, I had everything whittled down to a backpack sized to fit in the airplane overhead and a purse compact enough for ease, but large enough to hold a bottle of wine (I discovered this important feature later).

My sole, constant companion was a treasured 3"x4" grey, leather bound sketch book. It's pages tell the story of the towns, villages, and cities of 15 countries in 12 months. This is a sample of what those pages hold.

Please connect with me if you're interested in a print!
